Points to remember for living a healthy lifestyle
Being Healthy leads to a healthy weight for your body type
•Always consider the ingredients in your dish. Many dishes are high in EXTRAS which means high in Fat and Calories
•You DO NOT have to give up all those fatty high calorie dishes you love, you just need to eat them sparingly. Eat grandma’s famous casserole only a few times a year.
•Take on the 80/20 rule: Eat healthy 80% of the time.
•80% of the time: Eat lots of vegetables, lean proteins, healthy Carbs, and keep the Extras to a minimum.
•Treat yourself with those family favorite dishes 20% of the time with no guilt.
•Sugar and oil are unnecessarily added in many recipes. Consider times you can exclude it and do just that. Examples: Stews have added sugar and oil and adding oil to fatty meat when cooking.
