It is time to start living a healthy lifestyle

Being Healthy leads to a healthy weight for your body type as well as feeling better day to day.

Unfortunately, many people do not eat healthily because they were not taught to eat healthily. If you are reading this, you have recognized you may not be making healthy choices and may be feeling the effects of this on your body. You have spent all your life eating how you know to eat and how you were taught to eat. It’s a cycle that has continued to grow generation after generation. Grandma’s famous casserole is a dish you grew up eating, and you love it. Most likely it is full of fatty cream and cheese. It is probably low in protein and vegetables. Every family has a few dishes like this that they eat a lot more than they should.

My family has a few dessert dishes and a few dinner dishes I grew up with. Green chili creamy chicken enchiladas was a family favorite. It is so good, but oh so bad for me. It is full of fat. Full of it. Yes, it has protein but not a lot. There are remnants of vegetables if you can call corn tortillas and green chilies vegetables.

Although this recipe was made often as I grew up, I do not make it much now. Maybe once every few years I am in the mood for its greatness, and I make it. My not wanting to eat this dish did not happen overnight. It took years. I craved it because I knew it was good, and I was used to it being a staple. I even tried to make a healthier version. It just was not the same. I have accepted it is unhealthy and moved forward with other recipes that are better for my overall health.

It is important for you to make the change for yourself. You come first. Change your own habits then others will change naturally with you.
